OTTAWA, Ill.-- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Seattle Sutton’s Healthy Eating (SSHE), the premier home meal replacement company, is once again ahead of the curve. The healthy, freshly prepared meal company recently became healthier and more nutritious by making more fruits, vegetables and whole grains part of their menu. The additions follow a recent, national study’s recommendations, which reported lower heart attack and strokes for women who consumed more of those healthy foods. The study’s results reaffirm the beliefs that company founder, Seattle Sutton, has held about healthy eating since starting the business more than 22 years ago.
SSHE began adding more of these healthy meal components to increase the healthiness of the meals and is in line with the company’s ongoing process to continually improve the meals in order to serve the most nutritious meals possible. The menus changes include: increasing the use of even more whole grains with rice, pasta and breads; increasing use of even more fresh vegetables and fruit. And, adding new menu items in the near future, including: black bean & seafood jambalaya, cabbage spring roll and vegetable rigatoni.
“I believe that we need to continually analyze our meals and make healthy changes, in order to serve our customers properly. That’s why I started this company, to help people eat healthy – bottom line,” said Seattle Sutton, RN, BSN, Founder and President of Seattle Sutton’s Healthy Eating. “If I didn’t try to improve upon our meals, I feel I would be doing a disservice to our thousands of customers who rely on us each day for proper, balanced nutrition,” Sutton continued.

About the National Study:
The study tracked more than 88,000 women for almost 25 years and examined their food choices and looked at how many had heart attacks and strokes. It proved that a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat milk and plant-based protein over meat could save people from heart attack and stroke. It’s the same diet that the government recommends for lower blood pressure. The participants who followed a healthy diet were 24 percent less likely to have a heart attack and 18 percent less likely to have a stroke than women who consumed a typical, meat-rich “American diet.” The findings of the study can be found in the Archives of Internal Medicine.
