PORTLAND, Ore.-- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Fog Cutter Capital Group Inc.'s (OTCBB:FCCG) Fatburger unit has announced the implementation of a system-wide green program to be initiated company wide starting April 22 – Earth Day.
The new green program will involve several initiatives to replace items that Fatburger is currently using with more environmentally friendly products. One of the many significant items the company is altering is the development of its shake cup. Now made with a corn-based material the cups are manufactured from a renewable resource making them more eco-friendly than their foam counterparts. Fatburger uses more than one million shake cups a year.
“When Fatburger opens a new restaurant, we make a commitment to be an active partner in each surrounding community,” said Andy Wiederhorn, Chairman of Fatburger. “The environment is an essential part of our global community and we want our relative impact to be positive for each market – current and future – we serve. The green program, which is aptly being launched on Earth Day, is a show of our continued support to this commitment and the communities where we partner.”
This program will also alter other core products including: Shake lids, salad bowls, chili bowls, fry cups, and napkins. Fatburger was also one of the first fast casual restaurants to use a recycled Canola blend of oil that contains zero-trans fat.
