Tendy’s Garden Has It All…

Beauty is More than Skin Deep
From the outside, Tendy’s Garden Chinese Restaurant looks like the average Asian American restaurant. The inside, however, is an oasis of comfort and beauty. The interior décor follows an exotic East-meets-West theme with warm red walls and touches of green and gold accents throughout the dining room. The tables topped with jade-colored stone and the plush red chairs were chosen to extend a friendly welcome to customers. In addition to the main dining room, there are two party rooms and strings of eye-catching beads naturally divide the rooms.
Owner Tendy Deng created this artful dining room through a lot of research. “I am eager to learn from posh restaurants,” he explains. Deng is often on the go—sometimes even traveling to Las Vegas—researching new ideas and noting the latest trends; his customers definitely appreciate the hard work. In everything from the décor to the menu, Tendy’s Garden has been a fashion icon and trendsetter in Port Angels, Washington, ever since its opening in 2002. The cloth art, crystal chandeliers, and soft jazz music make this restaurant more memorable than the local competition.
The upscale restaurant is conveniently located in the center of town, benefiting from local traffic and the nearby university, residential area, and hospitals.
Food to Pique Interest
Another reason why people are drawn to Tendy’s Garden is the ever-changing menu. Deng updates the restaurant’s menu every two to three months to be sure his customers’ curiosities are always piqued. This method has proven to be successful again and again as the restaurant usually full and customers are willing to wait. Three newly launched menu items that Deng very highly recommends are the Basil Chicken Taiwan Style (Three Cups Chicken), Stir-fried Ho Fun Thai Style, and the Double Pan Fried Noodles, which are pan fried both sides and served over seafood or vegetables.
Yet, although the menu is constantly updated, there are a few items that always remain top crowd pleasers, such as the Honey Glazed Walnut Shrimp, Seafood with Spicy XO Sauce, Nine flavor Chicken/Beef, Crispy Duck, and Dry-fried Ho Fun with Beef. The General Tso’s Chicken even stands out at Tendy’s Garden; it’s made with a bit of star anise to give the dish a special flavor differing than those at other local Chinese restaurants.
There are quite a few healthy or vegetarian dishes on the menu as well. Some of the most popular of these options are Buddhist Delight and Japanese Silk Egg Tofu. Most menu items can also be prepared by steaming or boiling, upon the customer’s request. Additionally, Tendy’s Garden guarantees food of the highest quality. The ingredients are regularly purchased from a trustworthy distributor to promise freshness and each dish is prepared in adequate quantities so food never needs to sit out.
Whether customers are looking for a simple lunch or an elegant dinner, they are sure to find something to suit them on Tendy’s menu. According to one online reviewer, “The restaurant provides excellent food, good service, and hearty portions, and a friendly staff.” And most of the locals of
Smiling Service
“Smile!” says Tendy Deng. According to him, smiling is the only way to communicate with customers. “My staff will never argue with our customers. We try everything we can to satisfy their needs and make them feel at home,” he explains. The staff at Tendy’s Garden has been well trained to respond to customers promptly and keep them happy. The staff member even offers free drinks to those waiting to be seated.
Because of his happy attitude, Deng has managed to build quite a few friendships with the regular customers and, ever since, these customers have become loyal patrons. To show his appreciation, Deng presents with the best quality Chinese tea to warmly welcome.
