Fresh & Easy Applicant Numbers Nearly Quadruple Over Two Months

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- On the heels of opening six new stores in July, Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market today announced it received over 10,000 applications for jobs in the last month. The number of people applying to work at Fresh & Easy has nearly quadrupled since May.

Fresh & Easy recently announced its intention to hire 750 additional employees through September. In these tougher economic times, the announcement of new jobs is being well received by neighborhoods.

Tomorrow, Fresh & Easy will open its first store in the San Fernando Valley and another in Hesperia, California. Next week, the company will open a store in San Diego and another in the Harbor City neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Entry-level positions at Fresh & Easy start at $10 an hour in California and Nevada, with similarly competitive salaries in Arizona, and include a quarterly bonus of up to 10 percent. The company provides the opportunity for all employees to work at least 20 hours per week, which entitles them to comprehensive and affordable healthcare, including medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage, with Fresh & Easy paying at least 75 percent. Fresh & Easy also offers employees a 401(k) retirement plan with company match. More than half of all Fresh & Easy store employees live within four miles of their store.
