The hustle and bustle of city life in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania never fails to bring excitement and entertainment through its amazing array of bars, restaurants and other entertainment spots. Tokyo Hibachi & Bar spices up the already breathtaking dining scene with its intriguing idea of combining Chinese cuisine, sushi, and hibachi together.

Opened in 2008, the restaurant was remodeled to feel like a chic and contemporary restaurant. The owner, Jerry Liu and Shen Chen created a space imbued with a beautiful combination of materials, colors and textures. The tone is set with a palette of warm materials, cherry wood, and red-hued accents all blended with pieces of Asian artwork and photography.

Scintillating Visuals
With a spacious area of 6000 square feet that can comfortably seat about 200 customers, the restaurant is ideal for all sorts of functions. Patrons can celebrate a birthday in style, have big family gatherings, or enjoy a quick lunch break at the sushi bar. Or they can also join the cheerful group of people who are huddled around the hibachi chef watching his every move, oohing and aahing as they watch him perform knife tricks and cut food with lightning quick speed.

Featuring an even more extensive menu than most of its competitors, Tokyo Hibachi boasts more than 100 items to choose from. The varieties include a tasty and colorful medley of classic Chinese traditions and also Japanese delights. Sushi, sashimi, various image-provoking rolls, and the hibachi dishes are the stars of the Japanese side. Holding down the Chinese menu are the traditional Americanized Chinese favorites, such as the General Tso’s Chicken, egg rolls, steamed dumplings, fried rice and lo mein noodles. Tokyo Hibachi successfully infuses these two distinct culinary styles together into one spectacular culinary experience.

Among a host of delectable offerings, General Tso’s Chicken is undoubtedly the best seller. Tokyo Hibachi’s interpretation of this ubiquitous dish is a bit different than what you will find elsewhere. The chef doesn’t fry the chicken to a crisp, instead he prepares it in a way that maintains the tenderness of the inside while adding a somewhat crisp texture to the outside layer.

Many customers come for the Roast Duck, a time-tested Chinese dish. Tokyo Hibachi puts a special spin on their version by adding a special duck sauce that gives the dish a unique taste.

A Myriad of Dishes
If you are hungry for Japanese food, then you should stop by Tokyo Hibachi & Bar. When you step into the restaurant, you are offered both a Chinese and Japanese menu. Given a glimpse of the menu, you will soon notice that the Japanese menu also covers a wide range of varieties, including the impressive Love Boat, the classic and tasty Shrimp Tempura, fresh avocado salad, and also various delicious sushi and sashimi offerings prepared from fresh yellowtail, mackerel, eel, salmon, and other seafood.

You might want to start with the Shrimp Tempura which brings out the type of exotic flavor that can only be found in a Japanese restaurant. Following that, try the sushi and sashimi, bite into a piece of expertly cut tuna or salmon and experience a unbeatable taste experience that becomes even more electrifying when you dip the sashimi into any one of the fragrant sauces.

To further enhance your dining experience, take the pleasure of sitting at the sushi bar and watch the sushi chefs carefully cut the fish and then roll them into cucumber slices or top them with flavorful sauces. Take a sip of sake, by the time you’ve put your cup down, the sushi will already be on your table, presented like a piece of art, a harmonious combination of color, aroma and flavor.

Foodies dining at Tokyo Hibachi will want to try their delectable rolls. The Summer Roll is a special treat for summer. Comprised of tuna, yellowtail, salmon, kani, asparagus, oshinko and greens, it is then wrapped in slices of cucumber, and then matched with a fragrant sauce that gives a mellowing freshness and tastiness to the dish.

Like many other Japanese restaurants, Tokyo Hibachi has given their offerings attractive names in an attempt to stimulate customer appetites. The creative chefs at Tokyo have come up with a slew of astounding creations such as the Treasure Island, Dancing Ocean Roll, Flying Dragon Roll and the Sexy Girl Roll.

Harboring scallop, crab stick, lobster meat and fresh asparagus tempura, the Sexy Girl Roll covers a mixture of seafood that will have seafood fans swooning. If the sheer amount of seafood crammed into the roll isn’t enough, it also comes drizzled over with a strawberry and mango sauce that adds a subtle fruity taste.
