For years, many restaurateurs attempted to ignore the onslaught of technology and its impact on the restaurant industry. Many thought the cold, impersonal nature of technology was at odds with the purpose of the industry itself — hospitality. Fewer than 60 percent of Asian restaurant operators use POS systems; and not even half are using computers.
