As the summer heat rages on, street stalls everywhere in Malaysia offer a multitude of cold drinks and desserts. These are bright pink, yellow, green, caramel-colored, or milk white and are a constant source of temptation in the humid and hot climate of the country. Some are more or less unadulterated juices from tropical fruits such as limes, guavas, water melons, starfruits (carambolas), or sugar cane. Usually served with ice and with the occasional addition of a few tablespoonfuls of pandan leaf syrup, these drinks could lead one to believe that you have never tasted anything more refreshing.
